We are so excited to launch the MODERN NEWBORN experience. This has been many months in the making. Jeannie Woodruff from Jeannie Woodruff Photography and Design and Amanda Thompson from Sweet Cheeks Photography will be hosting a two-day workshop packed full of hands-on experience!
We will open the experience to 4 photographers. This is intended to be a very intimate weekend that will allow us to guide you with more one.on.one style of teaching. The sessions will be in a natural light studio. There will be a total of 5 newborn models that each of you will be working with and posing with our guidance and support. We want you to be able to go back home and ROCK your next newborn sessions. We will discuss poses and transitioning, how to get the most out of one set-up, wrapping and prop shots with the newborn models. We will talk about the best aperture and the different angles to obtain certain looks with each pose. You will be in teams of two and each team will have 2 sessions each while being able to capture photos from each of the set-ups. You are not going to be standing across the room just watching us pose the newborn you are going to be sitting right along side us for the first session and then it is your turn! Amanda and I both strongly agree the only way you are going to learn to perfect these poses is to do them! As an added bonus we will be doing a maternity mentor session at this workshop! It will be an outdoor maternity session at sunset!
The second part of our workshop is going to concentrate heavily on editing. We will go over a clean edit as well as giving you tips on how to correct skin tones, blemishes, and other adjustments you will want to make. You will have one.on.one time with Jeannie to ask any of your editing questions or receive help where you are struggling with your editing. Jeannie is an amazing designer and photo editor who professionally edits for some of the top photographer’s in the industry. We will also be going over portfolio reviews for our attendees. You will be able to ask both of us questions and for suggestions on your work and workflow for the future at this time.
It is highly recommended that you know how to shoot in Manual and know and understand the relationship between ISO, SS, and Aperture as well as setting a custom white balance. Your job will be so much easier when you are obtaining gorgeous images SOOC. We recommend a 50mm lens and a macro lens if you have one. You do not have to have the most expensive camera body or lens to attend.
